Got this as a replacement to their original model (which was amazing). This door moves up and down much better than the original (which always needed to be reset). So that’s great. However… this door does not have dusk to dawn operation – which means the door is often open or closed at improperly times throughout the seasons. Also – the solar option has never worked. We had to run electric to it to make it work. Not great, considering it was a huge reason why we selected it. The company was unresponsive to the solar system not functioning. That being said, the door has operated consistently and unless you have a power outage – you’ll probably be happy.

Our first door worked for about two years. We were going away and needed a replacement right away! They shipped it out the next day. And told me I could send the old one back to be fixed most likely for free!

You can access the menu even in cold weather. Never had it fail. Wish the bar had some forgiveness, if it hits some straw or chicken poo in the door, it retracts… meaning an animal can get in the coop. So unless you check your door each night, you never know. BUT that said, it has rarely failed. Best to install the door about 6″ high so that your shavings/straw don’t cause the door to trip.

Here’s the deal, I left two reviews yesterday both negative becase the the two doors I own both have major issues and don’t work correctly.
This company is has deleted every single negative review that was posted when I posted my reviews as well as mine.

I had high hopes for this door. It lost function over time. I have given up on using the automatic function and now open /close the door manually. Recently, the door has developed a terrible creaking noise when opening and closing. Is there any way to lubricate the mechanism? I tried applying feed grade lubrication to the metal stem, but didn’t help. I have had several different chicken coop doors, and none of them have worked well for long. Any ideas to resuscitate my door?
